The Benebone Wishbone
Dogs love to chew, especially on stuff that tastes like real bacon. The Wishbone is easy to handle, tastes awesome, and stands up to heavy chewing.
About Benebone
At Benebone, we started with the premise that dogs experience scent and flavor in a way we can’t even grasp. So we ditched the neon colors and loud squeaks. Inspired by a dog’s powerful sense of smell, we developed a long-lasting durable chew that’s jam-packed with real bacon. Once your dog takes a bite of our USA-made chews, he’ll be hooked.
We’re Obsessed with Safety Too
Wonder if Benebone is right for your dog? Here’s what you need to know. Since it’s hard, it’s important that your pup has strong teeth. If you’re unsure, check with your vet. Nobody likes an unexpected trip to the dentist. Keep an eye out for wear and tear. Within a month or so, we find that most dogs chew Benebone into submission. See the wear page on our website for helpful photos to determine when to replace yours. Keep away from households with peanut or other allergies.

A friend of mine had one of these at her house and my dog seemed very into it so I bought one and it has to be the absolute best thing I’ve ever bought for him! CrackerJack loves it more than all 111 other dog toys/ chew toys. Whenever He starts to chew on anything (!!!!) else I can handle that and he will immediately chew on that and his disposition improves immensely!

She became a bit “Gollum” (from LOTR) , but other than that looks like a solid and tasty bone. It’s pretty big and maybe I should’ve bought a smaller one, but Amazon didn’t ship the smaller ones to my destination.

My other dog, husband and I are grateful for this product. Our new cockapoo is a chewer extreme. This is one of the few toys that actually diverts his attention to it.

We have a black lab pup that loves to chew, she spends at least an hour or more chewing on this! Ordered a medium, which was adequate, but when it’s time to replace it I’ll order a large. Great quality and well worth the money!

My dog always needs something to chew on! He’s had this bone for 4 months now and still loves it! I will be buying more if this one ever falls apart! Get it if you have a dog that likes to chew on stuff!

I bought this for a small dog (approx. 10 lbs.) that I was dog-sitting. I wasn’t entirely sure if he was much of a chewer or if it were something he would even enjoy, but I decided, why not just go for it? He absolutely loved it! Unlike the traditional bone shape, the wishbone shape of this one made it easier for him to hold on and control with his little paws while he chewed. He worked away at it for a good while, and from the looks of it, it should last him for quite some time. I like to bring toys and snacks when I hang out with the pups, and this is something I will be adding to my dog-sitting care package that I take with me.

I’ve tried a few different kinds of bones for my 17 lb terrier and this is by far her favorite! When her second one arrived, she couldn’t wait to pull it out of the bag and tear into it. These don’t last too long with her, (maybe 2 weeks until they’re looking like they should be replaced) but she’s quite the chewer, so I imagine others would get more time out of them. Regardless, this bone is totally worth it. Plus, I just learned Benebone has a recycling program, so that’s a bonus!

What on earth do you do with young pups who have tons of energy, sharp teeth, and powerful jaws? You exercise them, of course! And then you give them Benebones. Wow. These are a huge hit in my home.Several times during the last 20 years I’d purchased Nylabones (similar concept), but none of my dogs had shown any interest. It was disappointing because I needed a heavy-duty chew toy for my pets to enjoy while inside the house; I can only guess they lacked enough flavor.Benebones (one peanut butter, one bacon) are a welcome addition. My dogs detected something exciting in the Amazon box, and when I revealed the goodies inside, ALL the pups were interested. They’re still chewing away and swapping flavors. I’m equally delighted! It’s important to remember that powerful chewers (especially young pups with sharp teeth) can destroy just about anything. Let’s face it; they’re born with jaws capable of chewing through animal hide and bone. Chew toys are no exception. My dogs (mixes of Shepherd, Retriever, and Doberman) are fiercely and happily chomping on their Benebones and making a dent in them. As the toy gets wet, it softens on the surface. Teeth marks are evident, and the smooth surface of the toy becomes jagged, BUT the dogs are not destroying it. It’s the most significant difference for me; the surface changes, but not the integrity of the entire toy. You can see where it is minimally breaking down, but overall they are lasting. The toy is solid when dry, and the roughened surface scrubs the dog’s teeth. Then, as the dog continues to chew, the toy softens a little. I cannot detect any odors and I don’t see stains on my rugs or furniture. Thankfully, my dogs haven’t experienced any obvious GI upset, which can happen with natural chews like horns and rawhide. The photo shows both bones after a week of daily assault, and they’re still holding up. Even if they only last for another week, they’re still a far better value than the chew toys that get destroyed within 10 minutes. However, it appears the Benebones will endure many more weeks (if not months) of enjoyment, and this makes them an absolute winner for my brood.Hope this helps!

I bought this for my daughter’s dogs, I bought my dog one 3 years ago and he still chews on it almost every day! The ends look a little beaten up but it is still his favorite thing. I got the bacon wishbone for all 3 dogs

I just had to have a dog! So, after saying goodbye to my 16 year-old dalmatian, I adopted another rescue dal named Rocket (because he is). Well, to say that Rocket is adorable and smart is an understatement, but he’s also an aggressive chewer! He does not have a discriminating palate, he’ll chew anything: sofas, hoses, shoes, you get the picture. I’ve purchased a ton of dog toys, especially designed for aggressive chewers and none have survived! Some were gone in minutes!! I came across Benebone and thought I’d give it a chance. How could 95,000+ reviews be wrong? What a difference! He’s a different dog! Chews on the wishbone for hours and even sleeps with it. Thanks Benebone, you saved my sanity!

This bone is my Goldendoodle’s absolute favorite thing (and she has LOTS of chews, toys, bones, etc.). She is 9 months old and very active, but this keeps are occupied for hours! It’s very durable.

As you can see, she’s chewed this quite a bit and she keeps on chewing. Highly recommend!

I would recommend the size XL if you have a medium sized dog or largerThe XL size is perfect for my 60lb golden mix and my German shepherdWe’ve gotten smaller sizes in the past and they do not last as long / become choking hazards as the dogs chew them downI would recommend and I have purchased multiple

My GSD destroys all toys bought at common outlets such as Petsmart and Petco within minutes or hours. This bone has lasted several weeks and she loves it. Beware of the toy on carpeting, however. The little nubbins resulting from the chew will catch in the carpet fibers and can damage bare toes! Overall, very pleased with the durability. Recommended for heavy chewers, worth every penny considering how long it’s lasted.

This a strong chew bone for our girl! She will run from us if she thinks we are going to take it from her:)

This Y shaped Benebone is our dogs favorite chewer by far! He’s a Pittie mix, 3.5 years old & loves to gnaw on this after he eats. It’s long lasting & in the 3.5 years we’ve had him, we’ve gone through many of these. But this style is his favorite. No smell, no mess, & makes him a happy pup!

I’m impressed with how durable this dog chewing toy is. What you see in the images is the result of a month’s worth of my dog gnawing on it for 30 minutes daily. It took her a few weeks to really get into it, but now it’s her go-to toy. Our dog is 30 lbs and can usually chew through pretty big bones, but this toy? Tis but a scratch! 😄 It’s held up remarkably well, and I highly recommend it for dogs who love to chew.

This dog chew toy has provided many hours of entertainment for our 10 month old puppy. She is an aggressive chewer and I had to find something to keep her busy as she had started on furniture corners. There are 3 different ends she can chew on, and it is supposed to taste like real bacon. I can’t attest to that, but she likes it, and that’s all that matters! It is very hard so she will never gnaw it down to where she cannot hold it. I recommend this toy.Additional comments—I had to order a second bone for Bella as she had chewed the heck out of the first. If there was one toy I would not want to be without, it would be this one. She really spends a lot of time with it.

22 lb mutt—-Update 7/25/15:Benebone sent us two replacements and he’s on the second one now. There’s no denying that these are his favorite bones, he chooses them over the others the majority of the time. However, they still go pretty quickly. When the first replacement needed to be tossed it was because he broke off another chunk like the first one, but this time it didn’t smell. We might buy more just to make him happy.—-Original comment:Our pup loved it, it immediately was his favorite the second we gave it to him, but unfortunately it didn’t stand up to his aggressive chewing. It was delivered and given to him on April 27th and tonight on May 15th (2.5 weeks later) he broke off a part of the single end.He has several Dura Chew Nylabones that have lasted several months (2 Nylabone Dura Chew Flavored Bone, Nylabone Dura Chew Double Bone, 2 Nylabone Dura Chew Wishbone) and we’ve only had to take away one of the plain bones because he flattened both ends.We watch his chewing carefully as he is an aggressive chewer to make sure he doesn’t ingest anything. I quickly noticed over the first week that the Benebone was much softer than the Nylabones and he was flattening the ends much faster on the Benebone than he does to the Nylabones. Tonight as he was chewing in my lap he snapped off the corner of the single end of this Benebone Mini.He dropped the piece and I picked it up, but quickly realized that there was a HORRIBLE smell coming from the broken end of the bone. I can’t even describe it, but after taking a couple of pictures it went into the trash immediately (not that he was going to be able to keep it). Now, bones break, that’s normal (which is why we watch closely), but after only two and a half weeks is way too fast of chewing progress for us at this price ($9.65), so for now we’ll be staying with the Nylabones. If your pup isn’t a super aggressive chewer, they probably will like this bone and have it last, but it didn’t stand up for ours even though he did absolutely love it.—-In comparison to the Nylabone Dura Chew Wishbone (Size: Wolf) it is about an inch shorter and the wishbone ends are MUCH closer together, which prevented him from chewing on the insides of them, which I think contributed to his not liking to chew on the double end.—-I have attached pictures from a week after he got it with him holding it, a picture of him holding the Nylabone Wishbone (Wolf size) for comparison, and then tonight. If you look at the corners you can see how they are flattened into sharp points. You can also see how he did not chew on the inner parts of the Benebone wishbone.

I got one of these, to try out on my super chewer pit mix, back in early April, it’s now the end of June and she’s still chewing it every day, almost all day! It has gotten smaller as she’s chewed it but it’s not broken or splintered or hurt her teeth! Just make sure to get the right size for the dog. Small dogs maybe the smaller ones but a big girl like mine needs the large or bigger. Idk if she gives a darn about the taste or smell of it but she loves chewing on it, and hasn’t felt the need to chew my shoes or wtfe since she got this. I like it so much I got more for my friend who also has a few super chewers and she gives good reports on them too. Her chewer dogs have stopped destroying her house in favor of these chews. Just try not to step on them in the dark, cause that s#!t hurts, BAD! Lol especially if you step on the chewed parts, where its rougher. The attached Pic is showing how badly she’s chewed it in almost 4 months! The chewing calms her anxiety and gives her something to focus on when she’s too excited, especially late at night. I will be getting more of these for her. even thinking about trying other shapes to see if they hold up as well as the wishbone shape does. She’s an adult dog so idk if these would be OK for puppies, as it might Crack their teeth.

This has been one of the best purchases for my Mastiff. He loves this bone and it’s strong enough for him to enjoy it without falling apart in one day. I purchased the giant bone and this is now his favorite treat.

We have a frenchie mix and he chews up all of his toys. This is the only toy that has lasted (although you can see by the photo he needs a new one, which I just ordered). We are so happy with this bone, and we love to see him happy with it! He weighs about 30 pounds and we got him a medium.

My dog had a Benebone (puppy size) that I got for her when she was little. That was months ago and she’s pretty much chewed it down to a nub, so I wanted to get her a new one for Christmas. As I looked over the sizes, the smallest size they had was small, so I purchased it. From the moment I opened it, I knew it was too big.My pup is a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix. She’s around 8 lbs. This bone is bigger than her head! It’s half the size of her body! She can still get her mouth around it, so I hoped that she would find a way to enjoy it like her other bone. She’s barely touched it. The silver lining is my other dog had been stealing her bone for weeks, so she was very happy to take the new bone as her own. And I will say, the small size is best suited for her. She’s a Boxer/Beagle mix and weighs around 34 lbs. It’s perfect for her.Other than the size mishap, my dogs love these bones. I did notice there may have been a bit of blood on the bone. I’m assuming it’s likely from the bits scraping her gums. You’ll definitely want to keep an eye on your dog while chewing this. And if you have multiple dogs, be sure to watch out for resource guarding. Lucky for me, my dogs don’t mind sharing the bone with each other. They haven’t been protective of it at all.I also want to add, I bought the two big dogs Nylabones for Christmas. They’ve barely touched them. But both of them have chewed on the Benebone. Compared to the Nylabone, it feels softer and more real. The Nylabone is very much like hard plastic. Maybe that’s why they don’t care for it.Either way, I guess I’ll have to go back to buying the puppy sized bone for my girl. I did see in the product description, there is one size smaller than small, called a tiny. But there’s no option to buy that size, unfortunately. At least not during the time of me writing this review.

Long long lasting bone. My fur babies have been loving these wishbone chews for weeks. This is the only dog bone that has lasted for months and they enjoy and play with them everyday. They even sleep with them too. THIS IS A MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED CHEW TOY EVER!!

This is my second time ordering this chew for each of my dogs. I have an XL dog (100lbs) & a S dog (20lbs) who both love a chew toy, but are particular on certain ones. They took to these immediately – like they would a real bone – and it keeps them busy, stimulated, and happy for a while at a time. I also appreciate the packaging & message that the company promotes. I will absolutely be purchasing these again – most likely many times! They are worth the $$ and last a decent length of time depending on how often your dog uses it.

Have been buying these for years! My Frenchie loves these benebones as you can tell from her old one. She chews on it everyday and it has lasted her about 3-4 months. It does not smell or stink up our carpets which we love.
